Inexpensive Date Ideas

by Samantha Villanueva

Dating in college can be stressful. Between balancing work and classes, we all aspire to have a social life as well. Below, I’ve compiled a list of a few of my personal favorite ideas for a fun night out that won’t break the bank.

Moonlight Canoeing by USF Student Affairs
Cost: $5 per ticket
Dates: Nov. 20 and Nov. 21
Times: 7 – 8:50 p.m. & 9:00 – 10:50 p.m.
Tickets: Available here

This option is one of my personal favorites and a must try for a lover of outdoors! Perfect night out that is affordable for most students and different than a typical dinner and movie date.

The Dali Museum
Cost: $10
Dates: Every Thursday
Times: 5 – 8 p.m.
Tickets: Available upon arrival

A solid date night option for art enthusiasts. Current exhibits going on right now are Escher at The Dali and Dali Revealed: Candid Moments from the Artist’s Life alongside their permanent collection. Arrive early and grab some dinner at Cafe Gala located in the Museum if you’re in the mood for delicious, affordable Spanish cuisine.

Movies On The Lawn hosted by USF Campus Activities Board
Cost: Free
Dates: Every other Wednesday
Times: 9 p.m.
Location: Marshall Student Center Plaza (Rain site: MSC Oval Theatre)

With Fall finally here we can look forward to clear skies and cool weather adding to the appeal of this option as a date night! Most of all, it’s completely free and popcorn and drinks are offered at no cost! These are just a few options for inexpensive date nights and could even double as just a fun night out with friends.

Which of these events is your favorite? What other unique inexpensive ideas have you came up with during your time as a student?
