Girl’s Night Out for Health Event

One of the most important issues facing society is women’s health. While spending countless hours caring for their families, women tend to put themselves on the back burner and forget about their own health. It’s for this specific reason that women need to be reminded of how important it is to care for themselves.

Throughout the Tampa Bay area there are events being hosted to raise awareness about this issue. One event that recently took place is Girl’s Night Out for Health. It was hosted by the Florida Hospital Central Care and Get Healthy Florida, alongside other community partners. Free events like these help women in taking care of themselves, while taking a little bit of time to have some fun.

The event took place during the afternoon and included wellness education, pampering and fun, with music provided by Joy FM Radio. Some of the screenings and activities included: cholesterol screening, blood pressure screening, glucose screening and flu shots.

The atmosphere was inviting, fun and laid back. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed. There was music playing, food available and numerous women there for support. There was no animosity or feelings of intimidation, and I felt relaxed while I was there.

Before the women left, they were given small bags of goodies to take home. It was nice to have someone take care of me for a change.

There are events similar to this one held throughout the year, and women are always encouraged to come and bring family and friends. Free events like these are a great way to stay healthy on a budget. All you have do is search for one in your area and allow yourself a free night for some rest and relaxation.
