It is easy to stay in bed all day when you have had a busy week of classes. Not everyone has a large friend-base that provides them with endless possibilities of what to do, not everyone has enough money to go out or a means of transportation to do so. Here are four tips for a day of happiness, out of bed and free of charge.
Make Coffee, Tea or Honey and Lemon Water (recipe can be found here)
Enjoy it with a good book, or while watching your favorite television program. Put your phone aside. Having this time to yourself in the morning can help wake you up and get you out of bed, at least to prepare the drink.
There are ways to exercise that don’t involve going to the campus gym. Going for a five minute walk is exercise. Yoga is exercise. 10 jumping jacks are exercise. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but exercising regularly is known to boost your mood, and tends to give you more energy throughout the rest of the day.
Write, Paint or Color
Activating your creativity, whether you are creative or not, is a beneficial way to spend your time and get away from Netflix. Remember, you don’t have to be “good” at something to do it.
Going outside for two minutes is better than not going outside at all. Go for a short walk on campus, or admire the sky. Let the wind remind you that you are alive. Let the sun fill you with Vitamin D. Acknowledge the beauty that surrounds you, even in a busy college city.
